The story of the Lotus

The lotus flower is considered a sacred flower to some and is a symbol of transformation and rebirth. The lotus is rooted in mud, their lengthy stems reach up to find the surface of the water where petal by petal they unfold into a beautiful blossom. They retreat nightly below the surface and re-emerge daily from the murky water in pristine condition. Their petals last only a handful of days before they shed and ultimately begin the process again. This has long been seen as a metaphor for our lives.
